The Cinema and Philosophy Association was founded in Ankara in 2022 with an understanding that considers cinema as an intellectual creation and defends the idea that films make philosophy through images. The Cinema and Philosophy Association, instead of limiting itself to an academic medium and is open to everyone who deals with cinema and philosophy. The association organizes many intellectual activities, from film screenings to directors’ interviews, from various intellectual meetings to national and international symposiums.
Among the most important is the Cinema and Philosophy Symposium, which was first organized by the association in 2018. The symposium is the most highly regarded among the intellectual circles of Turkey, and in 2021 it gained an international status.
